Due to dry, windy weather conditions expected to remain for the next several days, Harvey County has issued a burn ban effective through March 26. The fire danger is extreme across the County, and any fire will be difficult for first responders to control given the conditions.

Burn bans prohibit campfires, prescribed burns and carelessly using smoking materials. Violating the burn ban is a Class A Misdemeanor.

For more information on the burn ban, please see the local disaster emergency declaration signed on March 16.
