In 2014, the South-Central Kansas (Homeland Security Region G) Multi-Hazard, Multi-Jurisdictional Mitigation Plan was presented. The plan's purpose was to study common vulnerabilities across neighboring counties in Kansas.

The plan itself is a lenghty document, describing in detail preparedness for a range of events such as flood and tornadoes. Some recommended sections that are specific to Harvey County include: County profile (pages 67-68), city profiles (76-77), historical disaster declarations (166-168), the school, college, and university capability assessment (516-517), and jurisdictional mitigation actions for Harvey County (582-602).
Mitigation Plan

Emergency Management is currently updating its Mitigation Plan. The updated version has been submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and is in the process of being adopted by local jurisdictions. You can view the April 2019 version here.
