Harvey County certified the results of the 2024 general election on Nov. 12.

The election canvass was completed during the regular Harvey County Commission meeting. County commissioners Randy Hague, Becky Reimer and Don Schroeder served as the canvass board. The election was overseen by the Clerk's Office.
There were 23,495 registered voters in Harvey County for this election, and of those, 16,516 ballots were cast - including provisional ballots - for a 70.3% turnout.
The vote canvass reviewed 530 provisional ballots. The board accepted 287 of those ballots to be counted.
Examples of provisional ballots counted included 224 individuals that had moved within the county but had not updated their voter registration, 36 who had a name change, four ballots cast provisionally by technical error, and 23 voters who requested an advance-by-mail ballot, but did not submit the mail ballot and instead voted at a poll site.
Of the ballots not included in the vote count, 241 were individuals not registered to vote in Harvey County, and two were voters who requested an advance-by-mail ballot, returned their mail ballot and also voted at a poll site.
Election Day for the general was Nov. 5. Early in-person voting was accessible to voters for the two weeks prior to Election Day at the Harvey County Courthouse. There were 5,508 voters who cast their ballot early. The Clerk's Office mailed a combined 2,190 advance-by-mail ballots to registered voters who requested one prior to the deadline to do so, and 1,931 were returned to be counted.
