Helping navigate access to resources is a key component of the Harvey County Department on Aging's mission.
What those needs are can look different for everyone. The Department on Aging can promote opportunities for older adults to maintain their independence, provide direction to support systems for homebound individuals, or identify programs to aid caregivers.
Caregiver Services
Services provided for caregivers to benefit a care recipient 60 years or older or with an Alzheimer's diagnosis. The Department on Aging provides program information through group education and information events.
Assistance provides one-on-one contact, discussing caregiver options.
Respite care is available on a short-term basis (one year, limited hours of service). An assessment is required.
Find-A-Way Program
Supported through grant funding secured by the Department on Aging.
In-Home Programs
Providing support services in Harvey County. Programs funded through the Older Americans Act or the State of Kansas.
Information and Assistance
The Department on Aging can coordinate information and assistance with individuals seeking services. Identifying local service options can improve home comfort for older adults. Program costs are funded through the Older Americans Act and local mill levies.
Many services can be found through the Harvey County resource directories, which are available in English and Spanish.
