The Harvey County Health Department helps provide community access to health services. Examples of programs the HCHD offers include sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, communicable disease services, tuberculosis testing and treatment, lead education, and immunizations for both private insurance and the Vaccines for Children Program.

We accept select private insurances, Medicare and Medicaid, and offer low-cost vaccines for children 18 and younger without insurance.

We have Spanish-language interpreters available for all services. The HCHD also has access to language line services to aid in all other languages.

The HCHD values patient privacy. Please review our privacy statements to review how medical information may be used, and how you can access the information.

The Health Department seeks to make its services accessible, and accepts payment through several options.

  • Vaccinations can be paid out of pocket or billed through insurance. The HCHD is a KanCare provider for all managed care organizations: Aetna Better Health of Kansas, Sunflower and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. We also accept private insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, Ambetter, Cigna, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare and Medicare Part B and Part D.
  • The HCHD does not accept insurance from Medicare HMO plans. Please check your health benefit plan to confirm coverage for services.
  • The HCHD is a Vaccines for Children Program provider, which makes free vaccines available to children 18 and younger. A $20 administration fee is applied per vaccine. You can check eligibility requirements here.
  • The HCHD accepts cash, check, credit or debit payments for clients who do not meet criteria, are without insurance or who carry other insurance plans.
  • Private pay immunizations require payment at the time of service. Price is subject to change.
