Become a Licensed Provider
While there are excellent child care providers in our region, there remains a community need for additional quality child care options for residents and individuals that work in Harvey County. The RCHD leads orientation classes to help those interested with becoming a licensed child care provider.
You must be licensed with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment if you are or plan to provide child care. You must be licensed if you:
- Care for one or two children unrelated to the provider for more than a total of 20 child care hours per week away from the child's own home.
- Care for three or more children unrelated to the provider away from the children's home, regardless of the number of hours per week.
